Lea Jo "Josie" Spencer Engh's Obituary
On January 8th, 2023 we lost an amazing soul and a beautiful person. Lea Jo “Josie” Spencer Engh passed away peacefully knowing she was loved and without a doubt, how much. She leaves behind Husband, Richard, son, Spence, daughter-in-law, Alliee and only grandson, Taylor.
Jo was born March 21st, 1944 in Denver, Co to Leland and Rhoda Spencer. She was the youngest of 3 having two older brothers, Bob and Jim, whom she loved dearly. Everyone that knew her, knew Jo to be an honest, heartfelt, amazingly dedicated Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, friend and Wife. Jo studied at BYU in both English and literature proving she was brilliant in so many ways, with her words, writings and knowledge. She worked as a dental assistant most of her years and loved every minute of it.
On June 2nd, 1967 she married and was sealed in the LDS temple to the love of her life, Richard Charles Engh. From there life exploded. She loved to laugh, talk and dance, as well as spend as much time as possible with her family, but most of all her Grandson, of whom, as everyone knew, she lived for. The love of her grandson showed with all that she did for him as he grew-up, whether it be watching him play baseball or taking him to karate and swimming lessons. She thrived with every moment she had with him.
Jo finally lost her battle with dementia, which unfairly, shortened her life. She will be missed by all that got to know her and all that had the privilege of coming into contact with her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 13th from 6-8 at Premier Funeral Services located at 67 East 8000 South, Midvale. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.premierfuneral.com
