Leah Partridge Aiken Towers,'s Obituary
Leah Partridge Aiken Towers, age 94, of Highland, Utah, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following the effects of a stroke.
Leah was born on August 9, 1931, in Goshen, Utah, to Alma Smith Partridge and Leona Tanner Partridge. She was the fifth of thirteen children and spent her early years attending school in Goshen. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
After completing her education, Leah married the love of her life, Gerald Aiken. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah. Together, they made their home in Eureka, Utah, where they raised their two children, Irene and James (Jimmy) Aitken.
When James, who was deaf, did not have a nearby school to attend, Leah devotedly drove him each week from Eureka to Ogden so he could receive his education—an enduring example of her love and dedication as a mother.
Gerald passed away in 1978 after many years of battling cancer. Leah later married Meril E. Towers, and the two enjoyed traveling together until his passing in 1987.
Leah had a deep passion for service and volunteer work. For many years, she faithfully drove the local senior citizens’ van, helping countless elderly individuals reach appointments, shopping trips, events, and other daily needs. Through her years of service, she received numerous awards from the President of the United States and from local organizations, including the Silver Bowl Award. In total, Leah donated more than 7,800 hours of volunteer service.
She was a proud member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and Tintic Historical Society.
Leah is survived by her son, James (Jimmy) Aitkien; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her sister, Annie (Brent) Hone. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; five sisters; her daughter; sons-in-law; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Highland 4th Ward, 5848 W 11000 N, Highland, Utah. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Dedication of the grave will take place at Spanish Fork Cemetery following the funeral.
