I first met LeAnn in 1988 when I moved to Utah to attend BYU. I was a young widow with two rambunctious little boys & we moved into her ward. LeAnn always greeted us with a smile & was kind & interested in the boys. I reached out to LeAnn for tips & guidance as I began my own career as a teacher. She was invaluable professionally for years as she shared her wealth of expertise with me. Our association continued as great friends and as colleagues. Eventually, I became the principal at Timpanogos Elementary and LeAnn was my assistant. Always working hard & keeping her eyes the details , she was a wonderful assistant principal/instructional facilitator!Loved & respected by staff & adored by the students, she excelled.
But more than a friend and colleague, LeAnn was & is a great sister in the gospel. She loved her Savior & wasn’t afraid to talk about Him. She’s very confident in her role as a daughter of God and the plan of salvation. I love LeAnn & I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to have her as a friend during my time on earth. I’m sure she knows the rest of us will be there before she knows it. So I’ll savor her memory, be grateful for her example, she’d some tears, but mostly smile knowing I’ll be her eternal friend one day on the other side.
