I am so sorry that I had lost touch with this beautiful man, his wife, and family. Alan was involved in my conversion to the Gospel many years ago in Columbus, Ohio. A year later when I went to the MTC to serve a mission, my housing fell through in Provo to prepare to go to the MTC. Leland Roy and Rita opened up their house and allowed me to stay, helped me prepare to go to the temple, and delivered me to the MTC as my substitute family. I will never forget their kindness both before and after my mission while at BYU. Who can forget the wonderful garden and corn on the cob, and of course going with the Anderson Family to experience Lagoon! They showed me what a real family functioned like when living the Gospel. God be with you until we meet again Brother Anderson and prayers for peace and contentment for Sister Anderson and all the family.

Loved being in the same ward with them for several years he was always the first one to welcome us each Sunday with a smile and a hand shake. Amazing man amazing family
I always looked forward when we could come down time with Uncle Roy, Aunt Rita and our cousins. So many wonderful memories of singing, playing and enjoying good food - lots of it from Uncle Roy's garden. He will be missed here but I know that he is being welcomed with joy above. I look forward to singing with him again.
When Cathy and I were young newlyweds in Provo, Uncle Roy and Aunt Rita were so supportive, sharing from their garden and even trusting us to babysit! That was a wonderful time and we were always welcome. Because of our poverty as "starving students", we could not afford to stay at hotels when we came back to Utah County and we were always welcome in the Anderson Home, sometimes dropping in with little notice. When we decided to drive down from Rexburg to run the Deseret News Marathon we were given a room at the Anderson "Hotel" and a delicious, nutritious breakfast to prepare us for the race. Thanks to Roy and Rita and family for love and support through the years.
PS - I also remember Roy and Rita hosting Maryanne and Glenn's wedding reception in their backyard and allowing us to stay with our growing family in their matching reception outfits!

Roy was a wonderful fellow. I got to know him and Rita here in our St. George Ward and sang with them in the Morningside 7th Ward Choir. I learned, after I met him and his brother, Mike, in our St. George Ward, that I had served with their older brother, Bill Anderson, in the Edgemont Stake in Provo. What great people they are. We'll miss Roy greatly. And this is the third member of that family that we've lost in the last few months; first Bill last Fall, then Shirley, Mike's wife last month, and now Roy. Rita, we hope you and your family are doing OK. We love you all.

He is a great example for me. I love him very much. It will be hard to have him gone. We have faith that we will see him again.
What an amazing man, friend, relative through marriage, citizen, gardener, Saint, and man of the priesthood. I love this man. Always the cordial gentleman, I always felt like a welcome member of his family. I truly saw him as family. He and his dear wife raised an amazing family, and I don’t think that was a coincidence. A man who was gentle, loving, affable, and approachable. A giant among men, regardless of how tall he really was. I love him. I will miss him.
