Leslie Gail Roberts' Obituary
Leslie Gail Roberts, also known as Kailey Ashly Brookes, left this life on October 13, 2021 at the age of 57 in Alpine, Utah. She was born on January 21, 1964 in Newport Beach, California to Kenneth A. and Mary G. Roberts as the fourth of eight children. She graduated from Irvine High School, class of 1983, then attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. She was married to Jeffrey J. Egbert from 1986 to 2001, with whom she had two children, S. Corey Egbert and Sarah M. (Egbert) Moore. She had one grandchild, Oliver J. Egbert, son of Corey Egbert. She was a resident of Pleasant Grove, Utah since 2010. She is remembered by her parents, children, siblings Lisa G. (Roberts) McDougle, K. Michael, Mark S., Brett D., David B., John D., and Randal S. Roberts, and her close friends Charles Nelson and Rachel Park.
Leslie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was known for her strong faith and reliance on prayer. She enjoyed interior decorating and made her home and others’ beautiful and warm, especially during the holidays. She loved arts and crafts and taught children’s art lessons for which she was beloved by her students. Her greatest desire in life was to be a mother and raise good children, which she did. Despite struggles with mental illness, she held onto hope and tried to spread joy. She received support from her friends and family during her life, and tender care during her last months as her health declined. After a series of strokes, she spent her final days in a peaceful, loving environment in the home of her sister, Lisa. Her close family and friends were able to gather at her bedside and express their love and cherished memories of her prior to her passing. She died surrounded by family.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Premier Funeral Services, 67 E. 8000 S., Midvale. Her Life Celebration service will be on Wednesday, October 20 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 880 N. 700 E., Lehi.
