Letha Lorraine Johnson's Obituary
Letha Lorraine Johnson was born March 28, 1936 in Gardiner, Montana and left this mortal life on December 1, 2023 at the age of 87.
Letha was preceded in death by three of her sons Gary Fleck, Scott Fleck, and James Fleck; her husband Harold Fleck; her sister Sharon; her parents Leonard and Marjorie; and one grandchild and great-grandchild. Letha is survived by her son Jeff Fleck (Helen), four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Letha grew up in Montana and Oregon, and absolutely loved the beauty of the nature that surrounded her. She went to college at Western Washington to be an elementary school teacher. She adored being a schoolteacher and taught in Alaska as well as many years in Scappoose, Oregon.
Letha was an extremely talented individual and loved learning new skills. She drew and painted, did woodworking both functional and artistic, sewing, and many other skills. She loved drawing nature and animals, especially from the Yellowstone National Park area.
Letha is probably best known for her ability to give of herself. She loved to serve others and help those in need. There are many family and friends whom she helped when times were tough and she so willingly stepped in to do anything she could to help them.
Letha’s family will be doing a memorial for her in Sherman County, Oregon in the late spring of 2024. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you go do service for others in her memory. Continue the service of love that she taught by example in her life.
