Letha "Darlene" Schmeidler's Obituary
Letha Darlene Schmeidler, our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on June 9th 2024, after a long illness. Darlene was born on Sept 30th 1955 to Norman Guire and Letha Ellen John in Durango Colorado. Darlene married David A Schmeidler on Dec 8th, 1973 and over the next several years they were blessed with three sons, Wayne, Craig and Derrick. Their sons brought joy, love, and lots of fun adventures to their lives. Darlene was a wonderful and dedicated mother to her boys; they had a close bond and their love for each other was unwavering. As a young girl, Darlene loved spending time with her Keikel grandparents, she would spend weekends with them and had very fond memories of her time with them. She attended Aztec High School in NM. She met the love of her life while he was in the Air Force, they wrote back and forth to each other until he was able to come home so they could marry. Darlene worked as an office manager at a chiropractic office. She loved to cook and bake, she made the best German chocolate cake. She loved music, movies, shopping, and swimming. She loved Diet Coke and her dog Bubba. When she was younger, she was a primary teacher and she loved spending her Sundays teaching little ones about the gospel. Darlene was a fun Grandma, she would send little gifts for the girls or save gold coin dollars to send them. We had many family getaways in Moab, a half way point between Aztec and Salt Lake. Darlene is survived by her husband, David, her son Wayne (Lizsett), 3 granddaughters and 6 greatgrandchildren as well as her sister RaDawna and brother Kyle. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Craig and Derrick and brother Rick. Services will be held Saturday June 15th 2024 at 10 am at 2976 Winchester Dr WVC, UT 84119. Interment TBD.
