Leticia Lopez Pedersen's Obituary
Leticia Lopez Pedersen
Leticia Lopez Pedersen of Sandy, Utah died peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2017 at her home after a fight with kidney disease.
Born in Mexico City on October 21, 1960 from a seven month pregnancy, doctors didn’t expect her to live past the day. But, after 2 months of incubation, she was released from the hospital on December 25, 1960. Her parents were Juan Lopez Sanchez and Maria Elena Perez Trujillo.
She graduated as an Elementary School Teacher in Mexico. She later moved to Utah and obtained a teaching license, working in the Education field for 27 years in different positions; she taught children from kindergarten to 8th grade, helping adults to certify to become teachers, and taught parenting classes.
She served an LDS Mission in Mexico from 1981 to 1983. She loved missionary work and was not afraid to talk to any person about the gospel. She served in many callings for her church, and her favorite calling was as a temple ordinance worker. She was kind and found joy in giving.
She married Mark H. Pedersen on October 21, 2011 and was sealed to him on May 28, 2013 in the Salt Lake Temple. She adored Mark and wished she would have met him 30 years earlier.
Leticia is survived by her husband Mark, her siblings Juan Manuel (Maria), Judith Mendez (Jesus), Asael (Irma Beatriz), Miriam Zuniga (Roberto),
Aurora Howell (Lorin) and Raquel Serpa (Aaron), as well as many nieces and nephews. She is loved by many people in addition to her family. She will be greatly missed.
A brief viewing will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017, at the LDS Riverbend Ward, 8825 South 150 West, Sandy Utah 84070 from 9-10:30 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Missionary Fund.
