Linda Lee Beeman's Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother tragically passed away July 5th, 2022. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda was born December 4th, 1947 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lesley James Shelton and Jessica May Bishop. Linda grew up in Garland, Utah with her mother Jessie and brothers Leslie, Allen, Dennis and Gary. She had fond memories of growing up playing softball, ice skating on the frozen irrigation canals, and spending time with family and friends. She graduated from Bear River High School, Class of ‘66.
From her first marriage to Richard Linebrink, she was blessed with two daughters, Shelley Lynn and Patricia Ann. After returning to Utah to be near her mother, she met and married Roger Beeman. From this marriage, she was blessed with two sons, Christopher Morgan and Travis Wayne.
Linda cared deeply for others and went out of her way to be kind and lift up those around her. She was a fierce and loyal friend, and her children considered this one of her best qualities. Over the years, she developed many close friendships. These friends loved and cherished one another like family. They loved and supported each other through difficult times, as well as shared many adventures and laughs together.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her faith and trust in God was unwavering. Some of her best memories were of serving in the church in many capacities. She served as a primary president and loved working with the children. She cherished her time serving in the Salt Lake Temple. While working in the temple baptistry, she formed lasting friendships with the women there and looked forward to their lunches and other fun get-togethers.
Linda was a very talented and resourceful women. She had many hobbies throughout the years, and she chose to share these gifts with others. Linda loved the water. She was a certified scuba diver and served as a rescue diver for many years. While living in San Diego, she enjoyed going to the beach and taking long swims in the ocean. She continued to share her love of the outdoors with her children, taking frequent, spontaneous camping trips. Her love of nature included a love of gardening. She spent many hours in the yard cultivating her garden and flowerbeds. She shared this talent with others by volunteering at Red Butte Gardens for several years. Linda was also a talented seamstress, sewing quilts, baby blankets, clothes, pajamas, and other items for family and friends. She created many wonderful and beautiful things through crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, and needle point, many of which won awards. Linda loved celebrating the holidays and was able to utilize her many talents to go all out! She would sew costumes, make decorations for the house, and send care packages filled with holiday goodies and games. She had a talent for bringing the fun into all that she did.
One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with her grand- and great grandchildren. She didn’t let anything stop her from enjoying the time she had with them. From swimming with sharks, to driving go-karts, or playing on the playground, she always made sure she enjoyed every moment and taught them to live life to the fullest. She continually made the effort to be there for them at birthdays, sporting events, dance recitals, and other special events. She was their biggest fan and left us a legacy of love and value for family.
