Linda Miles Burrell's Obituary
Late in the evening of Saturday, August 12, 2023, Linda Miles Burrell passed from this mortal life. She will be remembered at a funeral service on Saturday August 26, 2023 at 10:00am with a viewing at 9:00am. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel located at 1249 S 48th St. in Mesa, Arizona.
Linda was born in Los Angeles, California on September 16, 1947 to Vercy Virginia (Wilkins) Miles and Lynwood J. Child Miles. The family moved to Arizona when Linda was about 3 years old where she spent her growing up years in Mesa, Arizona and on the Papago Indian reservation. She was always grateful for her loving and faithful parents, for all that they provided for and taught their family.
She began college at Arizona State University, where she met a young man from eastern Arizona, Dee Vernon Burrell. They were sealed together for time and all eternity on July 14, 1967 in the Mesa Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, starting their family. Three sons, Jeffrey Dee, Scott Miles, and Chad Michael, and two daughters Melissa and Kristin were born into the family. Linda and Dee raised their family in Mesa, finding great joy in encouraging and celebrating accomplishments in music, academics, and other pursuits. Linda always encouraged her children to share their talents and could often be found at school performances, church musical numbers, and any gathering of family or friends, finding great joy in seeing her children perform.
Linda was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life, saying on multiple occasions that she “never doubted.” Her faith was a source of much direction, strength, and comfort throughout her life. She accepted many callings to serve and to grow as she ministered to children as well as adults in the Church.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Lynwood and Vercy, and her brother, Brian. She is survived by her brothers Lynn and Robert, her husband, Dee, and her five children: Jeff (Tammie), Scott (LeGay), Chad (Tricia), Melissa (Brent Hawkins), and Kristin (Willard Hagen), 22 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 am located at 1249 South 48th Street, Mesa, AZ. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am - 10:00 am prior to the funeral.
