Linda Lee Gwilliam's Obituary
Linda Lee Gwilliam passed away May 1, 2023 at the age of 78.
Linda is survived by her 4 children, Doug Gwilliam, Lynnette Black, Cherie Cobabe and Adam Gwilliam, as well as her 3 brothers, Alan Petersen, Stephen Petersen and Paul Petersen.
Linda was born July 25, 1944 in Ogden, Utah and grew up in many different areas during her childhood, including 4 different high schools. During her high school years, Linda played the flute, was on the swim team, in Glee and Acapella Choirs.
Upon graduating high school, Linda went to Beauty School where she learned cosmetology and hair dressing. Linda moved with her family from Washington at that time to Napa, California where she worked as a Psychological Tech at the Napa State Mental Hospital.
Linda then moved with her family to Sacramento, California where she soon met Henry Arthur Gwilliam at a church dance and married him in 1966.
During her married life, Linda was busy raising her four children and also worked as a Dental Receptionist, JC Penney, and most fulfilling, as an owner-operator of Linda’s Day Care where she lovingly cared for children during the day for over 19 years, with a total of 62 children being served by her.
Linda was often serving others through her life behind the scenes and teaching her children the importance of serving others.
Linda’s hobbies included sewing (often making matching pants and shirts for her children to wear to school and on vacations so they wouldn’t get lost), crafting, bedazzling and eating chocolate.
The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors who were serving Linda during her last months of life. Also, a special hug to the many “Visiting Angels” and Hospice nurses who were serving Linda during her last weeks of life with love and compassion.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10am at the LDS Church at 200 N Center in Lehi, Utah.
