I found this text I sent to Linda in 2021:
I was just making a list of all those who have been a mother to me over the years. After my Mother in Heaven, my earthly mother and my mother-in-law, I put you. Then I tried to think of other mothers that had treated me like their own. I thought, "Surely other mothers of girls I dated treated me like Linda, right?" Nope. I couldn't think of any other mothers that treated me as well as you did. In fact I thought of a few that didn't like me and didn't really pay much attention to me. So, again, I am thanking you on Mother's Day and thinking of you. I hope you are well.

It’s hard sometimes to find the words that express one’s feelings of the heart, but it’s even harder to do when you love another so much as I loved Linda…Linda was my friend and my FAN. I felt important because of how she treated me and I always wanted to live up to her expectation of me. We’d hang out and go to movies, including the film “REGAN” that we both loved… I looked forward to changing the batteries in her collection of clocks high on the kitchen wall and loved how she wanted my design ability to assist her when we first placed them. Installing Christmas cheer was so grand for she let me do what I gelt was best…so kind, so thoughtful, so positive an influence on me…Bless her…Side by side we’d pull out every vintage and memorable ornament representing her many christmas memories and place them on the tree. My favorite being the handmade Angel she made from a doll to shine down on us. From fresh to artificial, the trees were always full and wide. It was just being with her that made all the difference! I Loved playing the piano for her cause she loved to sit and listen… I wanted to play my very best when she was around…so many great teaching moments…so many words of praise and thanksgiving…I love you Linda forever and ever…your son-in-law Ken
