Lloyd Marvin Tanner's Obituary
Lloyd Tanner passed away April 22, 2023 in his home in Midvale UT. He was born June 22, 1936 to Marvin & Eleine Elnora Tanner in Salt Lake City UT. He was the oldest child with two sisters Lynn & Marva.
He married Mary Anderson on October 7,1972, and they were sealed for time & all eternity October 7,1981 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lloyd is father to Troy (Shanae), Mary R "Becky" (James Godfrey), Carolynn & James E. "Jimmy" (Danielle). Lloyd is a grandfather to nine grandchildren, honorary grandparent to six.
He adored his family especially his grandchildren. He loved attending the temple & working as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. He was passionate about sports, especially when it came to his kids where he coached several teams. He also really enjoyed camping & traveling.
He grew up in Sunny Side, UT, then moved to the Avenues in Salt Lake. Lloyd has shared many wonderful memories of his time with his grandparents, Aunts & Uncle along with his cousins in Coalville UT. He Graduated from West High then proudly served in the US Army. Lloyd retired from UTA in 2001 after 41 years of service in several different departments. After retirement he worked for several tour bus companies & cherished the 3 years he worked for Princess Cruise Lines in Alaska which was surprising because he hated the cold.
Lloyd is survived by his Wife Mary, Children Troy, Becky, Jimmy, grandchildren & his sister Marva
He is preceded in death by His parents, daughter Carolyn, sister Lynne Beardall,
A viewing will be held April 26, 2023 from 6 pm until 8 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ward house located at 8171 S Jackson St. Midvale UT 84047.
Funeral Services will be Thursday April 27, 2023 at 1 pm located at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints ward house located at 8171 S Jackson St. Midvale UT 84047 with a viewing preceding funeral service at 12 pm
Internment service will be held at Elysian Burial Gardens located at 1075 E 4580 S Millcreek UT 84117
