Lois Carolyn Holdsworth's Obituary
Lois Carolyn VanMeter Holdsworth, 83, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026. Born on September 13, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Carolyn made her home in West Valley City, Utah, where she lived for more than 65 years and built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Holdsworth, and her son, Keith Duncan.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, John Duncan, and her daughter, Stacy Weissgerber. She was a proud grandmother to Amanda Fischer, Breanna Devenport, Vivian Weissgerber-Smith, and Kayla Duncan, and a cherished great-grandmother to Greyson Devenport, Theo Guest, and Eli Guest. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every opportunity to spend with them.
A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Carolyn served for many years as a minister at Granger Community Christian Church. She remained actively involved in her church community for as long as her health allowed. Even in her later years at Summit Vista, she faithfully participated in Bible study and continued to encourage and inspire those around her.
Carolyn had a creative spirit and expressed her faith and joy through art. She was a talented artist who loved painting and sculpting, finding beauty in God's creation and sharing that beauty with others through her work. She also loved to sing, lifting her voice in worship and bringing warmth and encouragement to those around her.
Helping others was one of Carolyns greatest passions. Whether through her ministry, volunteer work, or simple acts of kindness, she touched countless lives with her compassion, generosity, and caring heart. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her artistic gifts, her beautiful voice, and her unwavering commitment to serving her family, church, and community.
Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, creativity, and selfless service that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Special thanks to Applegate Hospice and Valerie Vonberg for providing excellent care in her final days.
