Lori was such a joy to have at Beehive Homes of Provo during the final days of her life. Some of my favorite memories of her include 1) Her loving words to my two year old daughter when she would come to visit, 2) Her picking out "All Creatures of our God and King" with her right hand on the piano as I sang along 3) Her singing and dancing along with Carpenters music, 4) the consistent visits from family and loved ones to bring comfort and joy to Lori.

Our family was also particularly moved by the consistent love and care that her husband Bruce provided to her at the Beehive Home. He was constant in his daily visits, helping Lori with meals, and providing comfort to her until she moved on to the next life. Thank you Bruce for being such a wonderful husband and example to our family. I am sure Lori misses you deeply and in the future there will be a joyful reunion in heaven!

During my first year in college, I returned home after a rather lonely, full day of classes to find a beautiful birthday cake waiting for me. My Japanese roommate excitedly told me that it was from "Aunt Rori". It took her telling me a few times for me to understand that while I was in class, Aunt Lori had come by to wish me a happy birthday. That was the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. Even though I didn't know her very well before I went to BYU, I felt like she was looking out for me and she was a friendly face to me when I felt far from family.

I love you, Lori.

Singing alto together in choir,
typing legal documents (even in her sleep),
feeding Gus & Sam treats for their tricks,
"discussing" former employers,
going out to eat lunch or eating her great dinners at home,
her collection of Weebles,
her fabulous sewing, needelwork, sewing skills,
listening to her funny stories about her husband
her loving tender-hearted stories about her daughters,
the many, many, many memories she shared of her dear parents and brothers and sisters.
As she said often, "Well, all's I know is......" I'll miss visiting my friend.

To Bruce and daughters: Janae, Megan and Paige: your sweet wife and mother Lori was a wonderful friend to me for many years. I was her visiting teacher for a long time and enjoyed our great conversations. She had a great touch on the piano keys and was an amazing baker of delicious things. I will always think of her fondly. Marlowe remembers her funny sense of humor best. Blessings to all of you. I am so grateful at times like this for the amazing Plan of Salvation!!! The kindness and goodness that radiated from the soul of Lori Pickard immediately set me at ease the first time I met her sixteen years ago (which was helpful for the shy and self-conscious twenty-three year old that I was). She and Janae graciously, patiently, and (somewhat) successfully helped me overcome my fear of dogs. And Lori always shared her almond stash with me whenever I came to visit.

Thinking of you always, Lori. Thank you for giving me the best friend I have ever had in your daughter Janae. Well done, Lori. 💕
