Lorie Lee Farris' Obituary
Lorie Lee Farris passed away on August 12, 2023, born August 26, 1959. Her wish to no longer be trapped in a body that was failing her was granted. We will miss you mom, Nana, sister, aunt, mother in-law, and friend. Lorie came into this world as an independent, feisty, and strong woman. Being born to Vernial and Doris Hawkes, she made her grand debut in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She loved her parents and found so much joy in being with them. We are happy that she is now with her daddy in heaven.
Lorie met and married Charles Farris and together they had 3 amazing boys, Charles “Chas” Farris, Sidney Farris, and McKay Farris. They built a life with their boys in Smithfield, Utah. Later divorced, they shared a love that is rare and unique but beautiful and pure. The love for their boys was always their priority.
Lorie was an amazing seamstress, making many treasures that her family will cherish for all time. She loved to laugh and loved to talk. Conversations with her were never boring. To know her was to love her.
Lorie was a sister to Jan (Rebecca Hawkes), Debra Hawkes, Francee (Scott) Stevenson, and Lisa (Corey) Hansen. Her siblings brought so much happiness to her life. She was also Nana. Her first-born grandchild Charles “Chas” Farris has the best memories of his nana. Next came Brooklyn, Eva, Dexter, Freya, and Milo. Her love for being a nana may have overshadowed her love of being a mom, she cherished her grandbabies and loved them intensely.
Unfortunately, Lorie’s mind and health deeply failed her. She fought as an independent, feisty, and strong woman. She loved hard and she lived hard. The family would like to especially thank Krystle Farris for her care and support of Lorie throughout her struggle. A true sentiment of family. She was safe and comfortable in your care.
Lorie is survived by her children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, boyfriend Scott Telford and friends. She is preceded in death by her father. We will miss you Lorie, we will forever love you, thank you for showing us the definition of love. Rest in peace. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date.
