Lorraine Cluff Strickland's Obituary
Lorraine Cluff Strickland, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at the age of 79 on December 26, 2025, in Orem, Utah, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 21, 1946, in Alameda, California, Lorraine was the daughter of Leath Cluff and Thelma Bingham Cluff. She spent her childhood in California and New Mexico, eventually graduating from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a degree in Elementary Education.
Lorraine's life was a testament to her deep faith, her unwavering dedication to her family, and her Christlike love for all she encountered. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her faith and love were a guiding light for everyone who knew her. She served two missions for the Church—first in Bolivia in her twenties, and later in life at the Church Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Lorraine's greatest joy was her family. She married Alton Strickland in 1978, and together they raised four children. She is survived by: her former husband, Alton Strickland; her four children: Tyler Strickland (Samantha), Anna Brooksby (John), Jacob Strickland (Nikki), and Carl Strickland (Max); 14 grandchildren; and her siblings: Ken Cluff (Judy), Nancy Nelson, and Wayne Cluff (Sara).
Funeral Services
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Steeplechase LDS Chapel, located in Orem, UT at 1780 North 165 East, Orem, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10 AM. Interment will take place at the Orem Cemetery immediately following the service
