Louis William Montoya
1925 – 2016
Louie passed from this life on April 11, 2016 from years of severe illness.
On October 25, 1925 he was born into the family of Enriquez Montoya and Josefina Lopez in Del Norte, Colorado. While in high school he majored in athletics, especially basketball and track. After graduation in 1945 he enlisted in the United States Army for 1.5 years. Later he joined the United States Coast Guard for 4 years.
In 1952 he came to Utah in search of work. He went to Hill Air Force Base where they put him to work the first day. He started out as a Radioman and ended as an aircraft electrician. Retirement came 30 years later in 1982.
Louie met Grace Griffin at a dance. They married on February 27, 1954 at Sr. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden, UT. His favorite things were his family, television, his blue truck and the Denver Broncos.
They had four children; Randy Montoya, Cindy (Steve) Coates, Lisa Montoya and Kym Angelee Montoya. Grandchildren include; April Stanley, Colton McCann, Chris McCann, Melissa Chowning, Stacy Clark, Rachel Johnson, Heather Montoya and Tomas Montoya and 22 great-grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Teresa Montoya of Los Angeles, CA, Gilbert (Mary) Montoya of Cypress, CA and Henry (Pat) Montoya of Las Vegas, NV.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 18,2016 at the Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 South State Street, Clearfield, UT.
