Louise Green's Obituary
Louise Green passed away early in the morning of April 3, 2024.
She was born Anne Louise Cook on December 14, 1935 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada to Frances Amanda (Delaney) and Edward Robinson Cook.
Louise was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She joined the church as a young adult while living in Geneva, Switzerland. Soon after, she served as a missionary in the Swiss Mission in the Italian district, which became the Italian Mission, dedicated in 1966.
She returned to Manhattan in New York City and married James M. Green II. They had four children: Marah, Bethany, James, and Joshua. Her children were the focus of her life, and she was dedicated to their happiness.
Louise spent her professional life working for banks, creating and preparing documents and presentations. She had a keen eye for graphic design and a talent for presenting data; her work was sought out by many of the bankers. She retired from Lehman Brothers following difficulties from 9/11.
She was a volunteer at the LDS Manhattan New York Temple for many years. Charity was important to Louise. She spent her time and money helping others, even at the risk of being taken advantage of. She didn’t question, always gave.
She spent her last years living with her son Jimmy (James), his wife Melanie, and their family. Melanie was Louise’s primary caregiver for those years; Louise and her family are very grateful to her.
Louise (as she was known by her grandchildren) is survived by daughters Marah (Myles) Cluff, Portland, Oregon; Bethany Franklin, Saratoga Springs, Utah; and sons Jimmy (Melanie) Green, Saratoga Springs, Utah; and Joshua Green, Troy, New York. Grandchildren Alli, Tamra, Gage, Delaney, Levi, Elise, Jenna, Taggart, Andrew, Jane, Conner, Dallin, Aiden, Georgia, Connor, and Natalie; sisters Patricia Cook and Lucy Rasmussen; brother Edward Cook; nieces and nephews; and many friends at the LDS wards in Manhattan and Middletown, NY.
Her parents and her sister Eileen Holmbraker preceded her in death.
