Loyd James “Jimmy” Halladay, Jr.
January 20, 1949 – May 21, 2018
Salt Lake City – Jimmy was born on January 20, 1949 in Provo, Utah to Loyd J. Halladay, Sr. and Katherine B. Barney. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 21, 2018 at the age of 69.
He attended schools in Provo and Salt Lake City. He worked for Salt Lake County Facilities Services as a mail courier for 26 years, retiring in 2012.
He married and later divorced, Lila Mae Boren. She preceded him in death in 2014.
Jimmy was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed playing guitar and loved music by Elvis Presley. He enjoyed building models of miniature carnival rides…his favorite ride was the “Hammer”.
He is survived by daughter, Amie Halladay; son, Rodney (Jennifer); stepchildren, Stephanie Ursenbach (Patrick) and Brian Morris (Wendy); brothers, David (Debbie) and Paul (Patty); 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 5 nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm, at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Arrangements were made through Premier Funeral Services in Midvale, Utah.
