Lucile Giles Scott's Obituary
Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend returned to live with her Heavenly Father early Sunday morning after a sudden onset illness that she was unable to fight off. She is finally free from the arthritis pain that has plagued her for years.
Lucile was born in Bountiful, Utah to Albert Waterfall Giles and Rachel Dorothy Jacobsen, she was the 6th of 9 children. She was raised in Bountiful Utah, and a graduate of Davis High School.
After high school she met Richard George Scott Sr. They were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had 4 children together; Dorothy, Richard, Mariann, and Lori.
Lucie worked at Becton Dickinson for over 20 years. She retired from there to spend more time with her family.
She loved to crochet, knit, and sing. She spent some time with the Keynotes Choir group, singing in various places and church meetings. She was an active member of the LDS church and loved serving in the temple with her family.
Grandma loved spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them to crochet and teasing them... She also loved to snuggle and tickle her great-grandsons.
She is proceeded in death by both of her parents, Albert and Rachel; Also 6 of her siblings, Elizabeth Marie Giles (Hull), Albert Jay Giles, Dorothy Maxine Giles (Tanner), Howard Jacobsen Giles, Louise Giles (Johnson), and Kenneth Jacobsen Giles.
She is survived by her four children; Dorothy Louise Scott (Rich), Richard George Scott Jr, Mariann Scott (John Anderson), Frances Lorraine Scott (Allen Summarell). She has 11 grandchildren; Annicia Katherine Poots, Brittany Ann Anderson, Shantelle Patrice Summarell (Levi Keller), Kerrie Lorraine Summarell (Dale Draney), Corissa Rosa Summarell, Jessica Drew Anderson, Belinda Pauline Summarell, John Daniel Anderson, Zacharias Allen Summarell, Alyvia Lynn Summarell, and Nicholas Scott Bolen. She also has 8 great-grandsons.
She will be greatly missed by all!
There will be a viewing on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:45am. Funeral services will follow at 11am at the LDS chapel on 4125 S. 3920 W. West Valley City, Utah. Interment will be at Elysian Burial Gardens Cemetery at 1075 E. 4580 S. Murray UT.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up an account at Mountain America Credit Union in the name of Lucile Scott Memorial Fund.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Ogden Regional Medical Center for the great care they gave and the tremendous effort they made to keep her comfortable in her final hours.
