Lyn L. Tidwell's Obituary
Lyn L Tidwell passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, due to complications from a recent surgery.
Lyn was born on July 30, 1954 to Gladys Myrtle Neil and Loyd L Tidwell in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the oldest of four children. Lyn grew up in Centerville, Utah and had fond memories of spending time in the outdoors. He always looked forward to camping and yearly elk hunting trips.
Lyn served an LDS Mission to London, England from 1973-1975, where his love of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and golf grew into passions that would fuel the rest of his life.
On October 24, 1986, Lyn married Jennifer Lee Nelson in the Salt Lake City Temple where he was sealed to Jennifer and her son, Rusty. Their marriage was a sweet one, filled with lots of time spent outdoors as a family. They enjoyed an active lifestyle snowmobiling, four wheeling, camping, fishing and hunting. They built their family on love, hard work, frugality, and principles of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Always loyal, laid back, witty, and kind, Lyn never sought to be the center of attention. He was known to be on the quiet side, until he would chime in with a clever joke or remark at just the right moment, making everyone laugh. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids and making them laugh whenever he could.
After retiring, Lyn spent his days with his kids and grandkids, golfing, and looked forward to going camping at the “property.” Fulfilling a lifelong dream of theirs, Lyn and Jen purchased recreational property to always get the camping spot they wanted. They enjoyed the peaceful summer days there, the elk bugling in the fall, and the stunning sunsets every chance they could. Recently, Lyn fulfilled another lifelong dream of golfing at St. Andrews, and showing Jen around several places from his mission in England. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa, and he is dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Lyn was proceeded in death by both parents, where there was a sweet reunion in Heaven with them! Lyn is survived by his loving wife, Jen, children: Rusty Raye Tidwell (Shannon), Lonnie L Tidwell (Cheryl), Lyndsay Dawn Hadlock (Spencer), over 10 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids.
A viewing for Lyn will be held at Premier Funeral Home 5335 S 1950 W Roy, Utah 84067 on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 10:00 am-11:00 am. Funeral services will take place from 11:00 am-12:00 pm.
A family graveside service will follow at the Bountiful, Utah Cemetery.
