Lynn Willard Bailey's Obituary
Lynn Willard Bailey graduated with honor from this life on August 29, 2024 and has set off on his next great adventure. We are certain that cherished family members on the other side came to guide him home and that there was a glorious reunion!
Lynn was born in Malad, Idaho to Willard and Grace Bailey. He moved around a bit as a child between Idaho, California and Utah. Eventually the family settled in Utah, and when Lynn was 18 he began employment at Hill Air Force Base as a computer programmer and electronics technician. He stayed at that same job for decades until they offered him early retirement, which he gladly accepted. Once retired he discovered that he enjoyed investing and playing the stock market, and this kept him happy and busy for years.
In 1957 Lynn married Judean (Judy) Weaver, and they were sealed in the LDS temple and had 6 children. Together, and often with extended family as well, they did a good deal of traveling, camping, fishing and rock hunting, and Lynn had very fond memories of these many adventures. After 27 years of marriage he and Judy divorced but have remained good friends to this day. Lynn also had several happy years of marriage with Gwen Breitweiser, though eventually they divorced and then she passed away a few years later.
Lynn was a quiet man with a calm, even temperament. He was a member of and loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and held several church callings in his younger years. Lynn loved his family and was always supportive, and he will be missed very much. It gives us great joy to contemplate his happiness in reconnecting with those who have gone before him: his parents, brother Sidney Bailey, sister Gail Hale, son Mike Bailey, daughter Jill Pepper, and many others. Lynn's memory and legacy lives on through his sister Carolyn Owen, cousin Janette Neff, children Mont Bailey, Cheryl Bailey, Matthew Bailey and Heidi Jabczynski, many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Fly high, dear one, and we'll see you on the other side!
There will be a Celebration of Life (and Beyond!!) party for Lynn on September 12, 2024 from 12 pm to 3 pm at Chapel Park located at 152 Chapel Street in Layton, Utah.
