He met his best friend, Claudia, who was working in Magna, and they were the answer to each other’s prayers. They married on November 16, 2006, and made their home in Taylorsville, Utah.
Lynn worked for over 25 years at Kennecott Coppermine and retired from there as a Power Plant Operator. He also worked for Oasis Stage Lighting and was in charge of the light shows for various bands, travelling with them throughout the United States.
His greatest source of pride was his two daughters, Amy and Autumn. Amy’s children are Sierra, Janessa, and Mala. Lynn also has great grandchildren, Mateo and Tianalei. Autumn’s children are Isaac, Alyssa, and Gianna.
Lynn is survived by his siblings, Peggy Taylor Cook of California, Ron (wife Debbie) of Salt Lake City, John (wife Susan) of Salt Lake City, and Lee (wife Paula) of St George. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dawna and Wendell Taylor. Lynn is also survived by his stepson Justin (wife Carolyn) Hopkinson and children Kayleigh and Abby; also Brendon, Grace, and Conner.
In his younger years, Lynn enjoyed mountain biking and cross country biking, hiking and backpacking in the Uintas. When he worked at Kennecott, he and his friends had horses and often rode together. Lynn loved being outdoors, especially in the mountains.
A generous and kind-hearted man, Lynn donated to many charities, including Boys Town, Seeing Eye Dogs, and animal shelters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to the charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 5, at 6030 S. Kamas Drive, followed by a pot luck dinner for friends and relatives. Friends may come at 3:30 to visit with the family. Lynn will be honored at a 4:00 service. All are welcome to bring Mexican food or other dishes for the shared meal after the service.
