Lynne Winsor
1944 – 2016
Lynne Winsor, beloved mother, sister & cousin, of Salt Lake City died after a long illness, on Saturday morning 20 August. She was born to Luther Snow Winsor & Leona Smith on 23 July 1944. Dan Kravet was her step-dad for a while. She was once married to Ken Lauritzen, later she married Brent Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Sjon and his wife Anne Johnson of Suquamish WA and Isaac Johnson of Salt Lake City UT. Lynne is also survived by Wickie (Lyolya) Winsor, step-mother of Gig Harbor WA, and siblings Loretta Kravet Boston of Sacramento CA, Sarah Kravet of Aurora CO, Michael Kravet of Pleasant Grove UT, Lynda Lee Macus of West Valley UT, Mark T Winsor of Lawrenceville GA, Wayne R Winsor of Apex NC, Marilu W Coster of Gig Harbor WA, Aunt Myrle-Lee Dalton-McIntosh. She is also survived by many cousins that adored her. One of which is Denise Carroll of West Jordan UT.
Lynne attended Weber High School and Dixie State College. She also played in many High school and college plays. She received her BFA from Utah State University and her MFA from the University of Utah. She taught art and math in high school and Junior High. She is an accomplished painter & potter. She was also the office manager at Adamson & Associates for several years.
Lynne was a vivacious and enthusiastic woman. At one time she was a carpenter by day and a belly dancer by night. She was an active parishioner of Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake, involved in much charity work. She had a great love for animals, especially her kittens and dogs she had over the years. Lynne was an avid reader, of especially science fiction books and beautiful Art books.
Lynne’s final resting place will be in Suquamish, WA, in a private memorial service. For more information call a family member.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Lynne’s name to an animal shelter, Humane Society or other group that helps animals.
