Dear Jim & Karen, Judy & Mike, Craig & Jil, Carolyn & Randy, and Lorin and Merilee,
Every Saturday afternoon, I remember Mr. Hunt greeting the noisy melee in the Scera Theater, there to enjoy another cartoon, adventure serial, movie and treat bought for pennies from the penny candy displayed on tables, next to the aquarium in the lobby. The Jensen children were always there, come rain or shine, with a warning from our mother to behave ourselves and go to the bathroom before the movie started and stay in our seats until the movie ended. She had "people" who would report to her if we didn't. Mr. Hunt always kindly reminded us to wrap our chewed gum in it's wrapper before dropping it on the floor, rather than sticking it under our seats--which we NEVER did! Happy memories for us, year after year, including special Christmas matinees.
We always knew the people who worked there, and they knew us. They were our coaches, swim teachers, bus drivers, school teachers, friends of our older brothers and sisters. I speak not only for myself, but for my brother Mike, deceased. Other family members were with us as well, and all enjoyed the same experiences. Years later, our own sister married the return missionary/movie projectionist/oldest son of Dover and Alice! Dover was a man to look up to from the time we were children in the theater, right up until the time he passed from this life to the next. He always knew us by name, and treated us as friends.
A fine man and a long wait for his reunion with his sweetheart and loved ones gone before! Our condolences to all who love and miss him, and hearty congratulations to him and all those who celebrate his life well-lived!
Sincerely,
Kathy Jensen Anderson and David Anderson
