Mabel Patricia Bennion Stevenson's Obituary
Mabel Patricia Bennion Stevenson, age 90, passed away at home at the Olympus
Ranch in Murray, Utah on April 7, 2019. Patricia was born on May 18, 1928 to
Burvidge and Mabel Bennion in Independence, Missouri and raised in Salt Lake
City, Utah. She married Gerald Stevenson on June 10, 1950 in the Salt Lake
Temple. They resided in the Olympus Cove for more than 60 years, where they
raised their family and created many fond memories. She received a Bachelor of
Elementary Education from the University of Utah and taught at Millcreek
Elementary. She loved teaching young children and later on would do volunteer
teaching at local schools. She loved learning, reading and always had a book in her
hands. She appreciated nature, especially geology, and volunteered at the Museum
of Natural History. She loved to travel with family and friends. She was a faithful
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many
positions including Primary President, Relief Society President in her ward and
stake, and a service mission with her husband locating in-active members.
Spending time with her family and friends was most important to her. She easily
made friends wherever she lived and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by sons George (Connie), Michael (Sue) and Kenneth (Angela);
grandchildren Brad (Launi), Nicole, Lauren (Casey) Hartle, Austin, Freddy, Parker,
Savanna, Spencer and three great-grandchildren Layla, Cora and Archie. She is
preceded in death by her husband Gerald, brother Donald, sister Marjorie and three
great-granddaughters Sydney, Thea and Hazel.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 am, LDS Church, 981 East
Revere Cir., Murray. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Wasatch
Lawn Memorial.
