Madlyne Charlotte (Rehrig) Logan, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday morning, July 6, 2020 in her residence, Courtyard at Jamestown in Provo, Utah.
Madlyne was born Sept. 6, 1926 in Weissport, Pennsylvania to Norman Victor Rehrig and Edith Catherine (Moyer) Rehrig. She was their second daughter and third child of four children. Her sister, LaNeita, the firstborn, died as a small child. Madlyne was raised with her older and younger brothers, Franklin and Charles, in Weissport and Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
While Madlyne was a nurse in training, she met her husband and eternal companion, James Robert (Bob) Logan. As a young couple, they moved with their family of three children from Philadelphia to Canoga Park, California, where they raised their family. Madlyne and Bob were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Madlyne was a very devoted wife, and a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Serving her family was always her greatest joy. She always attended to their every need, and she also enjoyed her associations with dear friends. She loved to travel, particularly enjoying time with her family in their chalet at Club San Moritz, Lake Gregory, Calif.
Madlyne was active with the Red Cross, a member of the Audubon Society, she was politically active, and served as Relief Society President for her church. She and her husband served as temple workers.
After raising her children, Madlyne went back to her nursing career and was quickly promoted to Director of Nurses. Everything she did was done to perfection. She created a life of order and beauty. She was a talented seamstress and always a classy lady with impeccable taste.
She is survived by her 3 children, James Robert Logan Jr. and his wife Siu of Orem, Utah, James Douglas Logan and his wife Lynn of Southern California, and Linda Joy Cook and her husband Nolan of Grayslake, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Joy Condie, James Logan III, and April Logan; Lee Logan and Chelsea Logan; Scott Cook, Arlin Cook, Laurel Forsberg, Daniel Cook, Anthony Cook, and Benjamin Cook; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart, Bob, on March 4, 2013 in their dream home they built in Prescott, Arizona. She also survived her parents, all her siblings and their spouses, and one great-granddaughter who died at birth.
Madlyne is loved very much by her family and dear friends. Her memory will be cherished always. In her final seven years of mortality, she greatly missed her husband, but now Madlyne and Bob are reunited forever.
