Maggie Ardelle Williams Franklin's Obituary
Maggie Ardelle Williams was born February 27, 1931, in Conecuh County, Alabama, to Isiah Williams and Ola (Raborn) Williams. She passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at the age of 92 years old.
Maggie or Delle as she was so affectionately known by her family and friends, accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age. She attended churches in Alabama and Florida before moving to Mt. View California where she joined Unity Baptist Church in East Palo Alto. She was involved with the choir where she loved to sing and also held many different positions while a member of the church.
While in California she worked for several families in their homes and helped to raise their children. In 1998 she moved to Ogden Utah, to be with her son and help raise her grandson, Avery. She soon joined Second Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was also a member of the church board.
She loved to sing, dance, and cook for her family and others. There was always a place at her table for those who did not have a place to go during the holidays. She was a kind, generous person who would give you her last dime if she saw that you needed it. She will be remembered most for her big, beautiful smile, the way she dressed and the way she lit up a room.
Maggie leaves behind her son Ray Charles Franklin, Grandsons Andy Lee Franklin and Avery Charles Franklin. She is preceded in death by her Father Isiah Williams, Mother Ola (Raborn), Brothers Herman Williams, Sermon Williams, Willie James Williams, Glosene (Brye) Williams and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held January 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, 227 27th Street- Ogden Utah 84401. The service can be viewed on Facebook Live at SecondBaptistChurchOgden.org.
In Appreciation
Our family is deeply grateful for all the love, cards, phone calls and words of comfort and other acts of kindness extended to us during this time of our sorrow. May the Love of Christ continue to dwell among us, and He forever hold you in the palm of his hand.
“ For everything there is as season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die: a time to keep, a time to throw away; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to tear, a time to sew; a time to keep silent and a time to speak; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time for war and a time for peace.” Sections from Ecclesiastes 3:
