Mardee Jane Wise's Obituary
Mardee Jane Bohling Wise
1951-2017
Mardee Jane Bohling Wise, our beloved Nana, Mother, Sister and Wife to Robert John Wise passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones on Monday, June 12, 2017 from complications of Pancreatic Cancer.
Born on January 28, 1951 to Milton and Beverly Bohling, she was one of four children. Siblings Brad (Michelle) Bohling, Sister Peggy Bohling (deceased) and Sister Linda (Randy) Barker grew up in the Millcreek area of Salt Lake City. Mardee attended Skyline High School and participated in several school clubs including choir. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology at the University of Utah. It was there that she met Robert while snooping around some of his classes. “Mardee and Rob” as they were so commonly known by friends and family were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 22nd, 1973.
She loved being a speech therapist and worked with children in the Nebo School District for many years. She was an active participant in the community and as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She sang with a group called “The Musettes” and served in many callings, including Primary chorister.
Her companion and best friend said, “Of all her creations and achievements, her children and grandchildren are her greatest legacy.” Her three children are; Megan (Travis) Eggleston, Todd (Roxanne) Wise and Erin (Jordan) Housley. Her legacy continues with her seven grandchildren and one more on the way.
“The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul…. we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.” - Dieter F. Uchdorf. Since her childhood, Mardee had the inherent ability to create beautiful things. Thread became dresses, words became music (that she sang), soil was her canvas filled with flowers, her home became a sanctuary where all were welcome and everyone who lived or visited had more than they could ever need, including her many dogs over the years.
We will forever miss our Mother’s instructional post-it notes and sing-song voice, especially on our birthdays. And for any blossom we will see, we will sing to ourselves “Dear mother, all flowers remind us of you”.
We “Luff You Lots!”
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Saturday June 24, 2017 at the Hobble Creek Stake chapel at 495 S. Canyon Rd, Springville, Utah. A viewing to offer condolences to the family will begin at 9:00am preceding the funeral services.
