Margo Stokes McNeely's Obituary
Margo Stokes McNeely, age 73, passed away on February 6, 2025, after a sudden decline in her health. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own.
Margo was born on March 19, 1951, to William Reed and Ida Verlene Stokes. She grew up in Salt Lake City, where she attended West High School. Later in life she went back to school to earn a BS and a master’s degree in finance. She worked for Beehive clothing for many years until she finally retired.
In her free time, Margo enjoyed reading, crocheting and watching old movies. She also enjoyed traveling and was able to visit 45 states and 4 different countries. Despite facing many challenges in her life, Margo remained resilient and persevered through it all. She was a fighter till the end, and her courage was a source of inspiration to us all. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her parents William Reed Stokes and Ida Verlene Larsen Stokes, her sister Wilma Caldwell and her son Ryan Reed Parson. She leaves behind her children Marsha Parson Day, Justin McNeely and Bryce McNeely along with eleven grandchildren, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and countless friends and family who will miss her dearly. She will be laid to rest next to her parents and son in Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at American Fork Hospital for the kindness, support and care shown to Margo during her time there. The family also wishes to thank Premier Funeral Services for all their help and guidance during this difficult time.
