Marie Youd's Obituary
TOGETHER AGAIN
Marie Whittaker Youd, 89, died Tuesday Sept 2, 2014 and returned to her loved ones.
Marie was born November 23, 1924 in Lake Shore, Utah to Earl and Laura Jane Whittaker.
In her youth she worked at the sugar beet factory and also candled eggs at the egg farm in Lake Shore. She graduated from Garfield High School. She married Ivan Max Youd on Feb 20, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, a great cook, and taught her daughters how to can.
Max and Marie have lived in Payson and Spanish Fork where they raised their eight children. She was known for her beautiful quilts and she made sure that every newborn in her ward got a baby quilt.
Max and Marie were temple workers for nine years. She had numerous church callings, including being the Relief Society President. She loved to do extraction work and did so for 20 years.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Max, and daughter, Connie Whittmaack. She is survived by Kathleen (Jon) White, Kent (Becky) Youd, Paula (Ron) Haskell, Blake (Janet) Youd, Wayne (Michele) Youd, Laura (Kyle) Hansen and Kevin Youd. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Frandsen of Spanish Fork, and Carma and Amy from Maple Creek Hospice, as well as the other nurses and staff.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the Crosswinds 2nd Ward located at 1150 East 1240 South in Spanish Fork, Utah.
There will be a graveside service on Friday September 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Spanish Fork Cemetery at 420 South 400 East Spanish Fork.
