On December 26, 2024, just one day after celebrating her 44th birthday, Mariela peacefully concluded her brave battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who knew her.
Mariela's radiant spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always prioritizing the needs of others. Her selflessness was a defining trait, whether she was caring for her family, helping a friend in need, or sharing her infectious positivity with the world. Her love and compassion left an indelible mark on all fortunate enough to cross her path.
A devoted mother, sister, daughter, and wife, Mariela's love for her family was boundless. She found joy in life's simplest pleasures cooking meals that brought loved ones together, watching movies, and finding ways to inspire and uplift those around her. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and her cherished dogs, creating moments filled with laughter and love that will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving mother, Maria Esther Osorio; her devoted husband, Manuel Lopez; her three beloved children, Berenice Placencia, Valerie Placencia, and Angel Placencia; her four sisters, Edith Augilar, Adriana Bonales, Rosa Bonales and Susie Washock; and two brothers Martin Bonales, and Christian Diaz. She is also remembered by a wide circle of family and friends who cherished her deeply. Mariela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Papa Nano and Mama Toya, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Although Mariela is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and indomitable spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mariela's life was a shining example of how one person's light can illuminate the lives of so many others, and her legacy will live on for generations to come.
