Maries Johnnybear's Obituary
Maries Johnnybear, born John Maries Emmett on March 31, 1953, in Fillmore, Utah, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Provo, Utah. His life remains a reminder of the complexity of the human experience.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gwyneth Emmett, and his brothers David, Michael, and Bill Emmett. He is survived by his children, Jolene, Erin, and John Jr., as well as three grandchildren. He is also survived by his former spouse, Melinda and his siblings Charlotte, Phyllis, Alice and Evan.
In his youth, John earned the rank of Eagle Scout and later served a Spanish-speaking mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These early experiences were meaningful parts of his life and reflected moments of dedication and purpose.
