Marilyn Clare Busby's Obituary
Marilyn Clare Mitchell Busby passed away peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City after a short and courageous battle with cancer. A former resident, and graduate of Tooele High School, she was the second daughter, and fourth child born to Delbert Heber and Hoilynn (Lynn) Betenson Mitchell on April 22, 1953. As a child, Marilyn was the consummate tomboy, often bringing every creature into the home without fear or reprisal, and with her gentleness towards all animals, they were tamed in short order. She loved nature, fishing, hunting, and camping in the Uintah Mountains, often at Moon Lake where the great outdoors was her sanctuary. Attended Tooele Central Elementary, and as a student at Tooele High School, she was in the band as an accomplished drummer, and under the leadership of Roy Ferrin, the band participated in the inaugural ceremonies in Washington, D.C. for President Richard M. Nixon. Graduated in 1971. Shortly after graduation, she went to work for Southland Corporation in the Tooele 7-11 stores where she made many friends before moving onto the corporate headquarters in Plano, TX. After spending several years living and working in Texas, a debilitating stroke struck her, and she had to retire and return to Utah. Survived by two daughters and two sons, Lisa DeBois Herren (Henry), Traci Morrison Mallet (Shaun), Michael Busby, and Jordan Busby. Also survived by twin brothers, Delbert Mitchell (Judi), and Delwynn Mitchell (Angela), and sister Bonnie Mitchell Miller (Richard). Five grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Funeral arrangements with Premier Mortuary, Salt Lake City, with services Monday Aug 20th at the LDS Church at 3400 South 1100 East at 11 AM, with viewing one hour prior. Internment at Elysian Gardens, 1075 E 4580 So., Salt Lake City.
