Marilyn Jean Crawford Bell was born Oct 29th, 1957 in St.Louis, Missouri to Ester Crawford Tatum and Hosey D. Peebles. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
She received Christ at an early age under leadership of Odell Woods. She moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1989 where she joined New Pilgrim Baptist Church under Reverend George Glass. She was united in holy matrimony to Dennis Bell in 1998.
Marilyn studied her Associate of Arts degree in Social Science at St. Louis University. She quickly progressed in her career at the USPS from a Mail Clerk I, II, III to a DOC Operator of highly classified documents and then worked many years as a Quality Control Operator for SPS Technologies.
She loved fashion and was always dressed to the nines. She was a loving Mother and Nana and had a close relationship with each one of her children, grandchildren and great grand kids.
She departed this life on June 16th, 2023 in Millcreek, UT and leaves to cherish her memories: Her Husband Dennis Bell of Salt Lake City, UT, her only daughter Takita Taylor of St. Louis MO, her two sons David Mccoy (Tina) of Dallas, TX, Gerald Mccoy of East Saint, IL; (6) bonus children: Damian & Brandon Bell, Terrance Hoskins, Tammy,LaRita David (Daylo)& Richard Holston (10) grandchildren: Jo’Von, Malique, DeVaughn, DeAundre(Amanda), Damarian, Damarkus, Amari, Te’Ari, Prince, Honor & Loyality (2) great grand kids Antonio & Jonah, (1) God son Keyon Bowman of Compton, Ca as well as a dog Loki. she also leaves One brother, Rufus Crawford (Paula) of St.Louis MO, (4) sisters; Wynell Oldham (Charles) of Atlanta, GA, Teresa Abrams (Alvin), Orlia Parker (Anthony) both of Salt Lake City, UT, Karmen Hunter of Carrollton GA, (1) Aunt Lydia Hughes of Aliceville, AL and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as extended family of sisters & brothers.
John 11:25–26 (ESV): 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
Although we will miss her, Aunt Marilyn did her part. She believed in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and had a personal relationship with him. Now she is LIVING with Him forever. By believing and trusting in Him, those of us still here have that same opportunity to live eternally.
We, the family of Marilyn Jean Crawford Bell, would like to extend our heartfelt thanks. And appreciation to everyone who will join in our celebratory event of the homegoing of our loved one. The going home celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 27th 2023. A viewing will be at 10 am and a funeral service at 11 am at Premier Funeral Services in Midvale.
