Marion Joyce Callister's Obituary
Marion Callister was born in Pasadena California on 04/10/1939 to Della Crawford Higley and Elmer Leroy Higley. Marion lived in Springdale Utah from 1978 until 2023, when she moved to Utah County to receive specialized care.
Marion enjoyed life among many friends, family and activities at Abington Manor Assisted Living in Lehi, Utah until she passed peacefully in her sleep one month before her 88th birthday on 03/06/26.
Marion worked for the Zion Park Natural History Association for 20 years. She Married Marvin Joseph Callister on Jan 12, 1985, in the St. George LDS Temple. As active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Marion and Marvin served a mission in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission from 1987-1988.
Marion loved meeting new people and talking with customers at the Silver Bear Enterprises rock shop where she worked for about 6 years.
Marion is survived by her brother James Higley in Payson Arizona, and her children Vicki Parkinson in Rockville, Utah, Michelle Hilkey in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Linda Hilkey in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jeff Higley in Ramona, California. Marion has 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren (whose names she could never remember) and 1 great/great-grandchild.
Marion will be laid to rest next to Marvin and Her mother Della at a grave dedication and interment held at the Springdale City Cemetery on Monday, March 30, 20206 at 11:00am. A family remembrance luncheon will be held at noon on that same day in the Springdale Ward Cultural Hall at 1548 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, UT 84767.
