Marjorie Elizabeth Beaman
With tender hearts we announce the passing of our mother Marjorie Elizabeth Heaven Beaman.
Marjorie was born March 9, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to her parents Harold John Heaven and Martha Elizabeth Murray. She died July 31, 2026 in South Ogden, Utah.
Her family moved from Michigan to Sarasota, Florida where she grew up with her younger sisters Cheryl and Eileen. She loved riding horses and performed as a trick rider in her teen years.
She married John Beaman in 1959 and they had a daughter Maria who only lived a few precious days. They were later divorced. She then married Ralph Beaman. Together they had 9 children before they divorced in 1987. After their divorce she and John found their way to each other again and remarried. They had just celebrated 37 years together before his death in March. She loved having a large family. She counted John’s children as her own and loved to tell people they had 13 children. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Marjorie joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1965 and remained an active member throughout the rest of her life. She loved the gospel and she found a passion for family history spending countless hours researching family trees. She also served people in the Ogden Family history center at one point and loved every second of her time there. She loved attending the temple as often as her health allowed.
Marjorie loved the outdoors and living like a pioneer woman. She liked to spend her summers up on their family property in Dove Creek spending months living in a tent and cooking in a lean-to, living in the middle of nowhere, just her and the kids. She also loved growing her own food. They had a large fruit orchard on their acreage on North Street. She spent many hours canning and drying all the fruit they grew. She loved farming, something she felt she got from her dad. So in addition to the fruit they also raised chickens, rabbits, goats, ducks, and even a pig once.
After her divorce from Ralph she went back to school to earn her nursing degree and worked as an LPN until she retired in 2008. She loved her work as a nurse. She worked mostly in care centers and her last job before she retired was working in Mountainview Health Services where she also spent the last year of her life as a resident.
In addition to her nursing career, Marjorie went to and graduated from massage therapy school and opened her own massage clinic on the side. She loved learning about how all the muscles worked and how she could help people feel better.
Marjorie also loved to learn languages. Before her health started failing her in March she was learning multiple languages on her phone including Hebrew. She was fluent in Spanish and she loved when she could use this skill to communicate with those around her.
She enjoyed making things with her hands. She knitted and crocheted daily even as her eyesight began to fail her. She enjoyed making things for her children and grandchildren. Making one last baby afghan this year for her great-granddaughter.
Marjorie had a love of music. She played the piano and loved to sing. She sang with her ward choirs and also with the Terraceville singing group as a soprano.
She loved to visit with friends and loved ones. She had weekly calls with her sisters. She would also talk to strangers as if they were lifelong friends. She made friends everywhere she went.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Martha Heaven, her daughter Maria, son Harold, her husband John and her nephew Mike.
She is survived by her children: Lisa (Colorado), Alan & Kim (Arizona), Kent & Denise (Utah), Larry & Karen (Utah), Mark & Dawn (Mississippi), Kathy & Gregg (Utah), Miles & Ange (Utah), Joe & Aerial (Utah), 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, her sisters Cheryl & Dennis Johnson (Tennessee) and Eileen Kelly (Florida), 5 nephews, 3 nieces, and John’s 3 daughters: Beverly Vandevander (Florida), Amy Roberts (Utah), and Phoebe Sanchez (Florida), and their families.
A viewing will be held at Premier Funeral Services 5335 S 1950 W Roy Thursday August 6th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday August 7th at 10:45am with a brief viewing beforehand from 9:30-10:30am at the Roy Utah 2nd ward building located at 5127 S 2400 W. She will be laid to rest at Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th St Ogden.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mountainview Health Services and Inspiration Hospice (especially her nurse Taylor, her aide Alisha, and her CNAs Brianna and Sofia) for the care they took of her during her final days.
