Shawn
I just learned of Marjorie’s passing five years ago.
What a choice sister! 40 years ago “Sister Harrison” was my companion in the New York New York City Mission. We were in North Massapequa on Long Island and I was there temporarily waiting on my Visa to Curitiba, Brasil.
She was around 52 at the time.
We would sit up late at night talking about life and the Gospel. I was always impressed because she and her husband were planning and getting ready to serve their mission together. He ended up passing away and she still went blessing the lives of many in New York including mine.
She introduced me to the Journey to Bethany series which really started opening me up to understanding Gospel timelines.
One of the most enjoyable memories I have is when we, along with our third companion Sister Nichols, put together a slideshow presentation called “The Key.” Sister Harrison took the photos while Sister Nichols and I mimed (mime makeup and all) the story. It was about someone aimlessly searching for something (on an overcast, freezing cold day🥶 … It was December.) on a Long Island shore. A stranger came up and gave them a key, symbolizing the Plan of Salvation contained in the restored Gospel.
During that special time she was my companion, she helped me to develop a deeper understanding of life’s purpose.
Indeed, what a full, purposeful life she exemplified and I’m grateful she was able to share a part with me.
Sincerely,
Shawn Livingston
