Marjorie Ann Hitt Orton Semmler's Obituary
Marjorie Ann Hitt Orton Semmler
February 6th 1953- March 22nd 2019
“I was a crazy teenager, a hard worker, a loyal friend, and a hands-on grandmother. I lived an amazing life full of laughter, love and family. I was given the gift of passing peacefully in the Provo hospital on March 22nd 2019 surrounded by some of the biggest bawl babies I've ever known in my life. I would like to give a special thank-you to Craig, Ed and my other nurses on the 6th floor for supplying my family with all the support and tissues they needed as they respected my final wishes. I was so blessed to bring into this world three of the best, stubborn, pain-in-the-ass children, Machelle Taylor (Chad), Jessie Lunnam (Jeri) and Tony Lunnam (Tonya), that I love with all of my heart. Through them I was grandma to 10 beautiful grandchildren, as well as 12 great-grandchildren. Through each of my marriages, Jr and Yogi, my family grew in not only size but love. I have been able to share my love, inappropriate conversations, topics and knowledge with countless adopted family, each of which I love and cherish as my own. I would like to thank my darling daughter Machelle, who I adore, who cared for me, shuttled me around to my doctors appointments, managed my pills, cleaned up after me and apologized in my wake for far too many years. I wasn't always nice, but I did, and always will love you. Don't read this and think that I am dead, for right now I am more alive than I have ever been, I have simply changed my address, now I am home.”
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and Charles Hitt; Husband Harold 'Jr' Orton; Brothers Charles Ray Hitt and Jerry Collins; and grandson Cody Bott.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Debbie Coffin (Ken); Children, Machelle Taylor (Chad), Jessie Lunnam (Jeri), Tony Lunnam (Tonya) as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.
