Mark Attebery's Obituary
Mark Attebery
1936 - 2020
Mr. Mark Attebery died quietly in his daughter’s arms on July 7th 2020 in Farmington Utah at the age of 84.
Mark is survived by his children, Shelley Kinsey, Quartz Hill, California and Todd Attebery, Fruit Heights, Utah.
He was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Doris Attebery. Mark loved sharing the outdoors and fishing with his family. Nothing made him happier than showing somebody how to catch a fish, followed by sitting around a campfire and telling stories while eating said fish. The fish of the world are safer now that Mark is in heaven. The fish in heaven, not so much.
Mark was born on Sept, 27, 1936 in Idaho to Ava and Eldo Attebery. Mark Served in the Air force and was stationed in Alaska. While in Alaska, he honed his pool skills, he was quite a pool player. He became an Air Traffic Controller and served a total of 20 years for our government; over the years he worked several jobs in the sawmills in Oregon. He also worked in several fish hatcheries in Oregon, it was a natural fit for him, he was able to study his prey, and his efforts paid off big. Mark was a serious fly fisherman. He dedicated most of his spare time fly fishing, tying flies and talking about fly fishing.
He was an Amazing man of God, his favorite way to worship the Lord was through his beautiful Harmonica playing. As a child he listened to his mother (Ava Minsker Attebery) play and watched every move. He kept her harmonica and treasured it all his days. Mark was a part of church choir and played joyfully to the Lord here on earth, but his family smiles today with the image of him standing beside the Lord playing Him some of his favorite hymns.
A memorial event will follow later, due to the Covid situation. We hope to have a celebration of life gathering/camping trip, honoring his life, sharing stories and memories near one of his favorite fishing holes.
