Mark Jay Bell's Obituary
If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies,
How different our ideals of beauty would be.

Quote shared by Mark
Mark Jay Bell passed from this life on March 18, 2023. He made a grand entrance into the world weighing in at almost 10 pounds on January 28, 1969. He is the baby in his family of 8 children born to Eileen Allred and James Hyrum Bell Jr.
Mark attended Bountiful High and was loved by many and made lifelong friendships while there. For 2 years he shared his love for Jesus Christ as he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Rochester, New York area. Mark graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to get a Masters in Science and Architecture at the University of Nevada.
Mark had an enamoring, joyful spirit. Mark's kind heart, sensitive spirit and infectious laugh seemed to attract friends wherever he was - at home, at school, in his career and on the street.
He came into this world with many gifts that he generously shared with all he encountered. Becoming a skilled cellist was one of those precious gifts. After going through years of piano, organ, and violin lessons with 7 children, Mom finally got a child that loved music as much as she did and would stick with it long enough to create beautiful, soul-filled music. Mark shared his music with many whenever he was asked. He was a member of the Utah Youth Symphony, played with the SLC Ballet Orchestra and was a sought-after studio cellist. When you heard Mark play, you didn’t just hear the notes, you felt Mark’s soul.
Mark had a creative, artistic designer’s eye. He was able to have a career path in the very area he was exceptionally gifted in. He could see things in a way that most of us could not. Mark was a perfectionist! His detailed computer renderings of a home or a piece of furniture that he had designed were done to perfection. When his creations came to life it was truly magical. Mark shared his expertise with many as he designed their homes and interiors. He spent much time and energy to make sure a project was finished just right.
Death brings life into sharp focus. It is at times like this that our gratitude for the Savior is increased immensely. We feel His compassion and comfort “Come unto me, all ye that labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Mark is freed from the shackles that kept him earthly bound. We know death is not a final goodbye, we will be with Mark again.
We send Mark off on his beautiful new journey with our confidence in him, our faith, love, and support.
There will be a Memorial Service in remembrance of Mark on April 15th 2023 at 2pm. LDS chapel 1282 W 1875 N Farmington, Utah
