Mark was my cousin and best pal whenever I visited Salt Lake. We always went on an adventure to visit some far off ghost town, mountain pass, desert vista, or historical site. We looked for lost treasures, historical artifacts, fossils, and whatever else we could discover. Mark was a gentle man and a true friend with an innate curiosity about everything. Mark also had a great sense of humor and humility, and I remember laughing at his stories and predicaments many times over the years. Mark also was one a the few people to consistently visit my mother (his aunt Kay) when she was in an assisted living facility. This meant a great deal to my mother and I always appreciated his kindness. Even though it has been sometime now since Mark passed, it seems hard to believe that I cannot just pick up the phone and call him. Mark, thank you for your kindness and memories. Rest in peace my friend.
