Mark Anthony Dumas' Obituary
Mark Anthony Dumas, of Taylorsville Utah, passed away Saturday September 13th, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Mark was born on February 22, 1959 in South Salt Lake Utah to Alden A Dumas and Carman Conrad Dumas. Mark’s family moved to St George where he attended Woodward Junior High and Dixie High School. Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree at SUSC in Cedar City Utah and graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Science in Public Health. He held many jobs in the Health and Safety field including Professor at Salt Lake Community College and OSHA compliance consultant and trainer for major companies in and around Utah.
Mark married his high school sweetheart Kathrine (Kathy) Mitchell in August of 1981. They have three children.
Mark served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, Preventative Medicine Technician, from 1982 to 1986 and was honorably discharged.
Marks hobbies included photography, hiking and outdoor adventures and cooking. He enjoyed hosting friends and family for dinners and events and was always welcoming to anyone and everyone who wanted to come.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathrine Mitchell Dumas; his daughter Lena English (Nikolaus English), his son Mason Dumas (Erica Dumas) and son Jeffrey Dumas (Lynette Dumas), and Grandchildren Owen and Molly English, Simon and Jackson Dumas, and Ainsley, Gracie and Maddie Dumas. Mark is also survived by his brother Michael Dumas and his sister Diane Cloward. He is preceded in death by his father Alden Dumas, mother Carman Conrad Dumas, his sister Cheryle Anderson, and nephew Casey Dumas
A memorial gathering will be held in his honor at 7649 South 2550 West
West Jordan 84084, Saturday, September 20th at 4:00. Everyone who knew Mark and his family is welcome to attend.
Mark’s love for his family, his love of all kinds of music and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
