Mark Ernest Valenzuela's Obituary
Mark Ernest Valenzuela, 63, passed away on March 11, 2023 in Ogden, Utah.
Mark was born to Ernie and Donna Valenzuela on May 19, 1959, in Alameda, California. He lived the first few years of his life in California and Utah, and later moved to Montana in 1971.
In 1972, at the young age of 13, Mark lost his dad in a tragic automobile accident. This was very difficult for him, and he spent the next few years trying to navigate life without his father.
Mark later moved back to Utah, where he learned brick masonry, and eventually started his own business. In June of 1994, he married Maria Moore, whom he later divorced. He had the privilege of helping raise Maria's two boys, Rocky and Denny, and together in 1997, they welcomed their newborn son,
Marcus. In 2011, Mark was diagnosed with throat cancer. The subsequent treatment affected his quality of life from then on. Camping, shooting, fishing, professional arm wrestling, and working on his 1974 corvette with his son were some of Mark’s favorite pastimes/hobbies.
Mark is preceded in death by his father, stepson Rocky, 2 stepdads, and 2 stepmoms. He is survived by his mother, son, stepson Denny, sisters Marcia and Sharon (Heber), brothers Todd (Rayleen) and Michael (Kristee), many step siblings, step moms, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 3-6pm, at 8776 S Pebblecreek Road, West Jordan, Utah. The Celebration will be an open house, where friends and family can visit and reminisce about Mark.
