Mark Thomas Williams' Obituary
Mark Williams, 61, passed away peacefully in his Taylorsville home on December 4, 2018 surrounded by family, after a harsh battle with pancreatic cancer. Mark is survived by many loved ones including his wife and soulmate of 41 years, Joanne, his sons Josh (Brenda) and Matt (Stephanie), his mother Virginia Williams, his siblings Michael (Jenny), Debra, and Christy (John), his grandchildren Shyanne (Charlie), Dallan, Carter, Aiden, and Carson. Proceeded in death, Mark will be joining his father Bill and brother Ric on the other side.
The most caring and generous person you could ever know, Mark Williams had a huge heart for all, especially children and animals. He never met a dog that didn’t immediately fall in love with him and vice versa. It was the same with kids – they all flocked to him. Whether is was with his own kin or the neighborhood children, Mark could often be found making up games, whistling, and dancing – like a true kid at heart.
Mark was a plumber by profession, but was really a “Jack of all Trades.” He would drop everything to help anyone at a time of need with no expectation of anything in return. Mark was a natural leader. If ever there was a time of crisis, he was the person everyone turned to.
Mark loved fishing, bowling, hiking in the mountains, and watching football with family and friends. His creativity would come to life when making sculptures from anything he could find. Mark enjoyed working in his yard, and collecting antiques such as ships and paintings.
He developed a love for the water while serving in the U.S. Navy from 1975 – 1977. Mark would have lived by the ocean if he could. Mark had such an easygoing disposition and could make you laugh when you least expected it. The world will not be the same without him in it. He will be missed every single day.
