I just heard of Mark's passing. I took Mark sailing with me on the Great Salt Lake and got to know this good kind gentleman. He had a great sense of humor and was a fine sailor. We stayed friends on Facebook afterwards and shared memories. I am so sorry for your loss. I'll leave a poem I wrote in tribute to sailing friends past and present. I LOVE the Workman family! Due to HIPPA laws, I can't say how we met, lol, but I've known Mark & family for a decade or more. The whole family are some of my favorites, & Mark will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to all the family. He loved you all beyond measure & talked about you incessantly! ;) You will all be in my thoughts. The world has lost an amazing, wonderful man. ❤️
Mark was a life member of the Lincoln Highway Association. He was at the last conference in June 23 at Folsom, CA. He will be missed from this group.
So sorry to hear about Mark. I worked with him in accounting at FMC Jetway in the late 90’s. He was charismatic, and made everyone feel welcome, and appreciated. He had that Texas drawl, and I could even hear it when reading an e-mail from him. Mark recommended that I go to Zion National Park; he was right, it is stunningly beautiful. He left FMC to hike the Appalachian Trail. I stayed in contact with him after I moved back to California. He agreed to be a job reference for me. Deepest condolences to his family - you’ve lost a wonderful person.
Oh, how I love Mark and Connie. It's been so long since I have seen you. My memories of Mark are some of my best. After I lost Zan he called me a few times. I always knew it was him because he would start with How are you Dena Rae. Only person that called me that. I fear for the mischief he and Zan will now get into in Heaven. All my Best to you Connie. What a great obituary of Mark. I have many memories of Mark. I have always respected how Mark lived in the present. If he wanted to do something he did it. I remember scout camp where he and the other leaders called each other delereous for the whole week. I remember going home after the camp and looking up what the word even ment. Being around Mark was always an adventure. The world will not be the same without him. I morn/celebrate with the Workman family at this time. I know I will see him again when my time comes to pass to the other side.
Mark was a great neighbor! He will be missed. I will miss the pictures he would take of Bear Lake, especially the ones when he would go to the marina and get pictures of the sail boats. Glad he is with Melissa now❤️. Lori Bowcutt & Ann & LD Bowcutt
So sorry for your loss. We had the privilege of seeing Mark most mornings when walking our dogs, tending to his beautiful garden. He was always quick with a hello and a chat about the weather. He was a wonderful neighbor and we’ll miss him walking by with his buddy Kimo in the evenings, we always laugh at Kimos antics and Mark would laugh and shrug reminding us that it was Kimos time for us all to appreciate him! Mark was on the activities committee with me in our Richmond ward. We did a cowboy Christmas party for everyone over 18 years old. We had a team and sleigh to go for a sleighride. Mark and my husband Bruce "planted a Christmas tree in Bishop Kip Panter's yard. On the skeighride they cut down the tree and brought it back to the church to be decorated with cranberries and popcorn strung by those less adventurous people. Great food great entertainment!
