Marsha Jean Berry's Obituary
Marsha Jean Berry passed away on Saturday Feb 25, 2023 in Orem, Utah. The daughter of Marshall Funk Grosscup and Dorothy Marie Stevenson, she was born on April 4, 1941 in Mitchellville, Iowa. She grew up in Jesup. Iowa. Later in life she attended Upper Iowa University and later transferred to Brigham Young University. There she met her husband George Richard Berry. They married on August 12, 1965 in the Manti Temple and she then graduated on August 17, 1965 with a BA in Music Education. They later returned to live in Iowa and had their daughter Camille Lynn Jaque. Marsha worked as a teacher off and on throughout her life. In 1984 her family moved to Utah and later she and her husband retired to Orem, Utah.
She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions in her Branch, Wards, and Stakes. She served a Stake Mission in Spanish with George in Arizona. Her main love though was Genealogy. Over her lifetime she researched and recorded over 10,000 family names. Marsha also wrote 3 books on genealogy for her family and one is used as reference in the BYU library. Marsha was widowed in 2018 after 52 years of marriage.
The family wished to thank Hospice for their tender care at the end of Marsha’s life. She is survived by her daughter Camille Lynn Jaque, her son-in-law Gabriel German Jaque and her four grandsons Alexander Albert Jaque, Adrian Beige Jaque, Spc. Jaque, Denver Grant, and Hunter Valjean Jaque. Her funeral will be Friday March 3, 2023 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 114 South 400 West Orem, Utah at 11:00 am. The viewing will be at 10:00 am. She will be interned immediately after the funeral at the Orem City Cemetery.
