Marsha Holt Forman's Obituary
Marsha Holt Forman, age 83, passed away on January 22, 2024, at her home in South Jordan, UT, surrounded by her loving family, due to complications associated with dementia.
Marsha was born February 15, 1940, in Murray, UT, to Alma Matthew and Helen Hansen Holt. She was raised in South Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School. On September 12, 1958, Marsha married her best friend and sweetheart Eldon A. Forman in the Salt Lake Temple. She had known Eldon all through her school years. When Eldon was a senior at Jordan High and Marsha was in the ninth grade, she would come walking down the aisle of the school bus in her starched skirts and he would always scoot over to make a place for her to sit down.
Together, Marsha and Eldon raised their four children with a love of family and a love of God. Marsha worked for the Beneficial Life Insurance Company when she was first married, but as her children were born, she dedicated her time to motherhood and homemaking while the kids were young. Marsha went back to work when they were older, serving as a secretary at Bingham High School for over 25 years.
Marsha faithfully served her Heavenly Father throughout her life. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she found great purpose in serving in many positions in the church. A special opportunity in Marsha’s life was to serve as a missionary alongside Eldon in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building—a calling they faithfully fulfilled for over 12 years. Following that mission, they served another one together at the Riverway Assisted Living Center for 3 years. In addition to her church service, Marsha loved traveling with and gathering her family together, especially in her home or at the family cabin. Grandma’s family parties are treasured by all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many parties to come will be filled with the memories she made for us.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Eldon; her four children, Michael Forman of South Jordan, UT, Kelli and Randy Ostler of Riverton, UT, Stephen and Stacy Forman of Riverton, UT, and Trisha and Troy Rindlisbacher of Nephi, UT; her siblings, Earl and Maxine Holt of South Jordan, UT, Barbara and Randy Jack of South Jordan, UT, sister-in-law Kay Holt of South Jordan, UT, and sister-in-law Nedra Fullmer of South Jordan, UT; 14 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; and a warm, wider extended family too numerous to mention. Marsha was welcomed home by those who preceded her in death: her parents Alma and Helen, her older brother Lynn, her nephew Matthew Holt, and her grandson Chase Ostler.
Marsha’s life was characterized by her complete devotion to her husband and family, her tireless service to the Lord and His kingdom, and her unwavering faith in God’s plan for His children.
We look forward with sweet anticipation to the reunion we will have with her in the bonds of an eternal family.
