Martha Patricia Wines "Nanny"'s Obituary
Martha Patricia Wines “Nanny” was born on September 19, 1940, to Martha Viola Osguthorpe and John Laycock Edgington. She passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Martha was the oldest of seven children, which meant she carried a lot of responsibility from a young age. Throughout her life she was known by many names. As a little girl she was called Patsy, later Pat, then Mom, and eventually Nanny a name that became so loved that many people later in life didn’t even know her real name because everyone simply called her Nanny.
Pat married the love of her life, Russell Warren Clark, on February 8, 1959, in Elko, Nevada.
Nanny was a devoted mother to Rodger, Patty, Susan, and Angelia, who passed away as a young child. Nanny looked forward to the day she would be reunited with her sweet Angela, and on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, that wish was fulfilled.
Nanny loved children and was always an advocate for them. She was hardworking, trustworthy, fun to be around, and known as the very best cleaner. She always told the truth no matter the consequence. She worked incredibly hard throughout her life, often working two or more jobs to help support her family. Even as she got older, she always wanted to be included and loved getting out of the house and being around the people she loved.
One of Nanny’s greatest joys came after retirement when she was able to help care for Rick and Ambur’s children. Her family meant everything to her. You could always find her sitting proudly at sporting events, dance performances, and school activities cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Becoming a great-great-grandma to baby Ford brought her so much happiness and love.
Later in life, Nanny became a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior deeply and was always willing to pray for anyone in need. All someone had to do was call her, and she would pray for them. She loved studying the scriptures and sharing her faith with others.
Nanny’s love, strength, faith, and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all those blessed to know her.
